Arlington rooftop tour this Thursday

This Thursday August 22 Things To Do DC is crossing the river and going rooftop hopping in Arlington for the next in their "After Dark" series of events. The bar tour includes all four of Clarendon's rooftop bars: Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill, Whitlows Tiki Bar, Eventide, and then finally Clarendon Ballroom. Tickets are $20 and includes no cover, no lines and $1 for your first beer at Arlington Rooftop, which is where the night starts off at 8pm. I'm hoping there will be more drink specials at the other locations too.

Thanks to the great new blog Rock The Roof DC for posting this event first. It's a great site for local outdoor events and taking advantage of rooftop fun before the summer ends.

31-40 Dating event at Hard Times Thursday

Date Social is having their second dating mixer in Clarendon this Thursday July 25 at Hard Times. At 7pm Date Social will host singles aging from 31-40 in a group dating environment. The deal is that "a maximum of 20 guys and 20 girls are split into groups of four each. Each group of guys spends about 12 minutes talking to each group of girls – long enough to make an impression, but not so long as to make things awkward. At the end, turn in your card with up to 5 people you'd like to see again. If there's a mutual match, we'll re-introduce you via email within 24 hours." Tickets to the event are just under $12 at Eventbrite which is being held in Hard Times' upstairs bar area.

Even Hitler misses Union Jacks

I wasn't a big fan of Union Jack's in Ballston, but those who frequented the British pub are upset at the news of its closing. Including Hitler. This hilarious video above plays on the meme of "Hitler Reacts To..." to poke fun at various Arlington bars. Thanks to ArlNow.com for the link.

What to do on July 4th

If you survived the madness that was the All American Bar Crawl this past weekend, you can finish the patriotic parting you started with many events this week. Here are a few local events:

July 3rd DC bar hop
As soon as you leave work on Wednesday you can catch this bar tour from 5-10pm to start Independence Day early. The Midtown Liberty Tour hits 15 DC bars and is $14 online with my promo code CNights and then you start the bar hopping at Mackey's or The Front Page.

July 3rd Clarendon Grill party
High energy beats will be filling up the Grill thanks to DJ 2 Nutz. Here's a video from March of him spinning at the Grill.

July 4th Mad Rose no cover party
My Clarendon venue of choice to celebrate before the fireworks is Mad Rose who is hosting their Star Spangled Independence Day Party. It's free, DJ Biks will be spinning and there are many drink specials including $4 'Merica Shots. Thanks to Social DC PR for organizing this party that goes from noon to 8pm.

Fireworks!
Iwo Jima in Rosslyn is usually the best bet for viewing the big bangs over the Washington monument. If you have access to a local rooftop like 1021's pool deck you can continue the drinking during the fireworks.
