Laissez Foure at Bayou Bakery's Katrina 10

Bayou Bakery in Courthouse is throwing a party to celebrate 10 years of New Orleans recovering from Hurricane Katrina in 2005 on Saturday August 29. The Katrina 10 event is from 5-7pm and Jazz quartet Laissez Foure is providing the live music. The celebration of recovery includes New Orleans style food and drink and an open mic for guests sharing their own Katrina story.

That day also kicks off our week-long Charity Book Sale, continuing until Sept. 5 with all proceeds from copies of DamGoodSweet sold going to The Roots of Music. Children are the future and this nonprofit provides youths with musical education and instruments while preserving New Orleans culture through music.
