Even Hitler misses Union Jacks
I wasn't a big fan of Union Jack's in Ballston, but those who frequented the British pub are upset at the news of its closing. Including Hitler. This hilarious video above plays on the meme of "Hitler Reacts To..." to poke fun at various Arlington bars. Thanks to ArlNow.com for the link.

Ballston bars packed day before NYE
I was not expecting Rock Bottom in Ballston was going to be packed beyond capacity one day before New Year's Eve. The venue offers its own custom beer menu (I recommend the Ballston Brown) , and attracts a similar crowd to its neighbors Union Jack's and Bailey's. At around midnight, there was actually a long line just to get into Union Jack's!Our waitress confirmed that this is one of the busiest nights of the year for the bar, which surprised me a little.
If Ballston was this crowded, I'm curious about how packed the venues in Clarendon were at the same time.

Union Jack's in Ballston
Union Jack's reminds me alot of the 4P's in Falls Church, with its talkative youthful happy hour patrons and evening bar quiz contest. The venue seems right at home along with Bailey's and Frontpage, and was surprisingly well occupied for a Monday night.
Didn't try the food, but it seems standard bar food fair with a British theme. I did like the decor and the staff was friendly. I would like to venture out there again on a more crowded weekend night.
Although the restaurant is new, What's Up Arlington beat me to reviewing it. Grrr.
