St Paddy's Day 2019

The 2019 St Patrick's Day celebrations are sure to be epic with the holiday falling on a weekend of decent end-of-winter weather and plenty of events!

Don Tito and PubCrawls.com are throwing a St Paddy's Pub Crawl on Saturday March 16, 1-7pm. $16 tickets gets you wristbands and a map to participating bars.

Celtic House on Columbia Pike is having four days of celebrations starting Thursday with dinner specials, live music and Irish dancers.

Sister restaurants Pamplona and Bar Bao are having a joint outdoor party on their patio Saturday 3-9pm (free).

What might be the best Irish bar around, O'Sullivan's in Clarendon has a great live music lineuo with Maggie Shot Burns, Down Wilson, 7 Deadlies and Irish Dancers.

Shamrock Bar Crawl

Project DC Events is bringing back the Shamrock Crawl one week prior to St Patrick's Day. The Clarendon bar crawl takes place on Saturday March 10 from 1pm to 9pm, while the Dupont Circle, DC and Baltimore, MD Shamrock Crawls happen the following week on March 17.

Tickets are cheaper online and get higher closer to the event date, or $30 at the door. I snagged a $8 ticket the first day they went on sale online with promo code "SHAMROCK8". But you don't even need a ticket to participate, as a ticket buys you a green mug and access to a few drink specials. You don't need a ticket or wristband for access to any participating bars. Drink specials include:

$2 Beers
$3 Rail drinks
$4 Shamrock Shots
$5 Irish Car Bombs

Venues that you can party at while wearing green are Clarendon Grill, Whitlows, Bar Bao, Pamplona, Hunan One, Oz and Mister Days.  Whitlows will also have their rooftop open for festivities.

11th Street next to Clarendon Grill will be closed by the police as ACPD and ACFD will have free CPR workshops and a "buzzed" giant beer pong game to warn of affects of drunk driving.

Blarney Blowout Breakfast

Instead of a St. Patrick's Day bar crawl in Arlington, Project DC Events is throwing a Blarney Blowout breakfast bash on Saturday March 18 morning at multiple Arlington locations. Keep the fun going from the Friday night festivities with a little help of hair of the dog at this Irish breakfast at either A-Town, Pamplona, Clarendon Grill or Courthaus Social.

Tickets are $25 and are for one of the four venues only, so choose your adventure wisely. Tickets include an all you can eat breakfast from 8 to 11am, drink specials, DJs, raffles and outfit contests. Wearing as much green as possible is recommended.

Clarendon Shamrock Crawl

The annual Clarendon St Patrick's day bar crawl is back this Saturday March 19! The Shamrock Crawl is sure to draw large crowds of party-goers decked out in green from 1 to 9pm. Tickets are $30 online, which gets you a refillable mug for us in drink specials at 10 local bars. Or you can just show up and join the party for free, as you don't need a ticket to attend these bars, just for the beer specials. Shamrocks and Shenanigans at Rumors

Lindy Promotions is throwing their annual St. Patrick's Day Party at Rumors in Dupont Circle, DC on Tuesday, March 17th. The festivities kick-off at 11am and hundreds of Irish party patrons will be able to enjoy beat the clock drink specials starting with $1.17 Coors Lights, $2.17 Blue Moons, and $4 Three Olives Vodkas. Check out their event page for more info and cover charges.

O'Tasty at Iota

Local Irish rock favorite O’Tasty is making a much-anticipated return to Iota for St. Patrick’s Day this Tuesday, March 17.  The seven piece DC based band that named itself after a local Chinese food takeout restaurant has a decade-long history in the DC area and has played Iota multiple times.

O'Tasty plays traditional Irish songs in its own upbeat style and the occasional Pogues or Ween cover, but is known for its high-energy songwriting. The Irish Rock band is rooted in the Celtic Punk tradition with instrumentation that includes guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, accordion, flute, bass, drums, fiddle and bodhran. The show starts at 8pm and cover is $10.

Leprechaun Lap St. Paddy's DC bar crawl

The 14th annual DC Leprechaun Lap St. Paddy's Bar Tour will take place on Saturday, March 7th. Join Lindy Promotions and thousands of other Irish partiers as they paint the streets green and bar-hop around to 15 Dupont bars. St. Patrick's Day fun continues with the annual Project DC Event's Clarendon bar crawl on Saturday, March 15. The Shamrock Crawl starts at 2pm at either Clarendon Ballroom, Mad Rose Tavern, and Velocity 5 and then continues until 9pm at over 12 other local bars. Tickets are $15 online, or $20 at the door. ShamrockFest Mega Crawl

Start St. Patrick's Day celebration early with the first of many local bar crawls. The ShamrockFest Mega Crawl is this Saturday, March 8 starting at 4pm. This huge crawl involves over 20 Arlington bars and will not be stopped by the weather. Tickets are $15 or $20 the day of, but you can get them for $7.50 if you register in groups of 6 or more. Halfway to St Patrick's Day at O'Sullivan's

Continuing the halfway to St Patrick's Day festivities is O'Sullivan's party this Tuesday, September 17. They are throwing a bash with live music by Danny Burns, Irish dancers and bagpipers. Drink specials run from 3 to 7:30pm with $1 off draft beers and $4 rail drinks. They will continue the lead up to St Patrick's Day with a party on the 17th of every month until the big Irish holiday. Halfway to St Patrick's Day at RiRa

RìRà is celebrating halfway to St. Patrick's Day this Saturday, September 14. They are getting into the Irish spirit early by partying twice as hard this weekend with two live bands. Celtic rockers Empty Flask hit the stage at 6pm warming the stage for Shake Shake Shake at 10pm.

Clarendon is full of green party goers today and will probably be brimming with fun and noise tonight. Popular Irish themed bars like O'Sullivan's already had a respectable line to get in Saturday afternoon. Other places that are perfect for bar hoping today are RiRa, Four Courts, Mad Rose, and Whitlows.

One of many St. Patrick's day themed events happening in Clarendon is the Lucky Charms party at Mad Rose. All day long until close there is no cover, free bead and mask giveaways and entertainment by DJ Chris Styles, DJ Saam and an Irish Juggler. Hopefully the weather will allow for the festivities to spill out on their outdoor patio next to SoBe.

The 14th annual Shamrocks and Shenanigans party will be hosted at Rumors in DC and will celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with Irish-themed band Turtle Recall, contests, drinks specials and more. This is a two day event that lasts from Saturday March 16th 3pm-close and then Sunday March 17th 11am-close. The $5 cover includes drink specials like:

The Shamrock Crawl 2013 is a St. Patrick’s Day themed bar crawl in Clarendon that takes place on Saturday, March 9th from 1-9pm starting at Mad Rose. They are anticipating up to 3,000 people for this event, which includes stops in some of my favorite local bars including:
