Relay-Palooza Battle of the Bands at Jammin Java

Join Relay For Life of Northern Virginia for our annual Relay-Palooza Battle of the Bands kickoff celebration benefiting the American Cancer Society on Sunday, February 23rd 2020! Doors open at 12 pm and the event begins at 1 pm. Local acts may register to perform on the Jammin Java stage and then we need your vote to choose a winner. The winner of Relay-Palooza will get the chance to headline our 2020 Relay For Life event! This is a family-friendly event. Donations benefit the live-saving mission and programs of the American Cancer Society. Tickets $15 on Eventbrite.

Gooners vs Cancer at Irelands Four Courts

This Saturday August 24, Ireland's Four Courts is having a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphona Society. The pub is matching all donations up to $1,000 for the cancer fighting fundraiser Gooners Vs Cancer. Come for the DC United game on the TVs and great raffle prizes!

Erica Paul Fabulous Cancer Fundraiser at Ballroom

This Saturday June 20 is the annual cancer fundraiser Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation at Clarendon Ballroom. The is the fifth year of this "Fabulous" event especially dedicated to Erica Paul, who lived in the DC area and died of cancer at 29.

The evening starts with a rooftop happy hour at 5pm. From 6-9pm the main dance floor will host cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, DJ Hurley, and a fashion show by Current Boutique and the popular fashion style truck The Pink Armoire.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, or $100 for VIP. Extra raffle tickets can also be bought online.

Clarendon Golf Tournament for Cancer Fundraiser

This Monday May 18 the Clarendon Business Association, including many local venues like Whitlows, is throwing its annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The event is in Dumfries, Va at the Potomac Shores Golf Club. Registration starts at 11am Monday and Shotgun start at 1pm. Foursomes are $600 (individual golfers are $150/person) and sponsorships are available. Both CBA and LLS are 5013c organizations. For more information, contact emmanuel@whitlows.com

Jimmy Fund cancer benefit at Bracket Room

Bracket Room is hosting a fundraiser to benefit cancer research this Wednesday August 27. From 4-9pm, 100% of all donations and 10% of sales will go to the The Jimmy Fund, which solely supports Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer research. This night is a memorial fundraiser for Robyn Else Abrams, who passed at the age of 9. More info on the Facebook event page, and you can donate directly here.

Cancer Sucks at Mad Rose Saturday

This Saturday, March 8, Mad Rose is having a fundraising night to benefit a little girl suffering from cancer. Azhlee Dayana Salguero is ten years and has cancer in her left femur. She is under going chemotherapy and desperately needs a bone transplant which costs $25,000. Mad Rose's Cancer Sucks night will raise money for her from 5-9pm, with cash donations and $5 raffle tickets (5 for $20) for Captials hockey tickets and restaurant gift cards from local venues such as Bronx Pizza, Circa and Rhodeside Grill.

Update from Chris Santos: "Mad Rose will have a free buffet. Here are some of the drink specials until 9 pm: 1/2 off draft beers, $3 Millet Lite, Coors Lite and Bud Lite bottles, $5 rail drinks, $5 house red and white wine, $6 margaritas and $5 fireball shots."

Movember Party at Wilson Tavern

This Thursday, November 21 Wilson Tavern is celebrating moustaches and raising money to combat prostate and testicular cancer with their Movember Party from 8pm - 2am . "Movember" festivities typically involve growing as much facial hair as you can in a month to raise awareness for men's health and cancer prevention. Wilson Tavern is pitching in with giving away t-shirts to those who donate at the door, a prize contest for best 'stash, and proceeds for the night going to Movember.com.

Chris4Life at Clarendon Ballroom Saturday

You have until midnight Friday night to buy tickets ahead of time for the great Chris4Life fundraiser event at Clarendon Ballroom Saturday, June 22. This is the third annual event in the memory of Erica Paul, who fought against colon cancer and participated in mulitiple fundraisers but passed in 2011. Chris4Life provides grants to colon cancer patients in hope they can spend more energy on the fight to get well and less energy worrying about money.

Saturday's event will feature a happy hour from 5-6pm on Ballroom's rooftop followed by drinks, food, auctions and prize drawings in the main room 6-9pm. Tickets are $25 online before midnight or $30 at the door.

Cancer Prevention happy hour fundraiser at Wilson Tavern

This Thursday June 6 Wilson Tavern is hosting a happy hour for a great cause from 5pm to 9pm. That night 10% of their bar and 100% of registration proceeds will go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation's fundraising efforts for the 5k Walk/Run in September. The evening includes extended happy hour specials and a pair of sourviegner sunglasses. Tickets are $8 online or $10 at the door. Superbowl Cancer fundraiser at Mad Rose

Mad Rose is hosting a Superbowl party this Sunday to benefit Cancer Cares.  They will be raffling off prizes before the game starting at 1pm. Prizes includes 9:30 Club, Wooly Mammoth Theatre Company and Jammin Java tickets.

Afterwards, Mad Rose continues their Super Bowl festivities with no cover charge, a $25 brunch buffet, and Capitals hockey ticket raffle. DJ Saam & Soleiman will be on hand playing hip hop and house in the back room.
