Little Pink Dress breast cancer benefit at RiRa

Given that this is breast cancer awareness month, RìRà is also having a fundraiser party for the Breast Cancer Care Foundation. On Saturday, October 26 if you don't feel like celebrating Halloween early, come out to RìRà in Clarendon and instead dress in pink to avoid $5 cover charge and skip the line. This month RiRa's special drink is the $8 Jameson Cherry Sour featuring Jameson Irish Whiskey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar syrup, fresh cherries, a dash of egg white and Peychaud's Bitters. Other drink specials include $3 pints of either Heineken or Bud Light.

Breast Cancer Awareness at Mad Rose Oct 24

Mad Rose Tavern is hosting an awareness and fundraising party for breast cancer research on Thursday, October 24. There is no cover charge, instead all donations made that night go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation through the OneUmbrella Foundation. The evening starts at 9pm with music via DJ C Lo, raffles for Capitals and Redskins tickets, gift cards, and wristbands. More details on the Facebook invite page.

Fundraiser for Avon Breast Cancer Walk

Last Saturday Whitlows hosted a happy hour fundraiser to support the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The event was from 6 to 9pm an for a $10 doation patrons got a wristband for drink specials at the bar. Four local ladies are participating in the Walk this May 5th and are working to raise $1,800 each. Help them achieve their goal by donating to the fundraiser here.

Fashion, Food, Music for a Cure on Friday

This Friday April 30 the Caribbean Breeze Restaurant is rolling out the red carpet – literally – for Washingtonians at the 3rd Annual Spring-Summer Fashion Show. Former Washington Redskin LaVar Arrington and his wife, Trish, will host the event, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Against Breast Cancer.

9:00 PM – Doors open to the public
9:30 PM – Media interviews with LaVar Arrington, Mike Cordero, Ellie Aguilar, and Anna Tavongsa
10:00 PM – Seating for show begins
10:30 PM – Musical performances by D.C.’s Jason Cerda and Jewels followed by the start of the runway show
