Clarendon Halloween bar crawl

This Halloween the annual Project DC bar crawls come back to terrorize Clarendon and Dupont Circle. Clarendon bar crawl starts the costume madness early from 1-9pm on Saturday October 31, with drink specials and raffles at over a dozen local bars:

To start off your crawl, head to one of the three registration bars (denoted above with astericks) where you will pick up your wrist band and mug. Usually there are lines around the block of costumed party goers after 3pm, so get there early!

Boo Bash Charity Benefit in Leesburg

On Friday October 30 RazorX2 is throwing a pre-Halloween party to raise money for local nonprofit organization My Girlfriend's House. Starting at 8pm, the Boo Bash charity fundraiser will be held at the Oatlands Historic House in Leesburg, Va. Costumes are encouraged for the event that includes a haunted Manor House, palm reader, psychic, raffle, and food and drink for purchase.

My Girlfriend’s House is a nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by a small group of motivated and professional women with a common desire to serve as positive role models to at-risk girls and young women within the Washington metropolitan region. Funds raised at RazorX2's Boo Bash will be used to assist My Girlfriend's House in the purchasing of additional curriculum and classroom material, in addition to allowing them to fund the involvement of at least 10 girls into their Girl Talk mentoring program for a period of 1 year.

Most Interesting Man in Arlington

Join Mel (of Sarah, Ty, & Mel at 107.3) at Don Tito on Saturday, October 24th at 6:00pm to help her crown the first ever “Most Interesting Man In Arlington.”

Be at Don Tito with all of your friends by 6:30pm ready to compete. Contestants should come prepared to endure various challenges and be judged on their overall Arlington “look” by audience response. There will be prizes award to the top contestants.

Party Like Its 1997 at Iota

This Saturday Oct 17 it's time to bring back your grudge style at Iota with a Classic Albums of 1997 themed night. Leading the night is the amazing and super energetic Party Like It's performing as No Doubt. Opening up for them is local duo Koshari as Radiohead, Skin Folds Five mimicking Ben Folds Five and also The Right Handed Lefties as Incubus. Cover is only $12 for the whole night!

Clarendon Day 2015



This year's Clarendon Day will fall on Saturday September 26. The huge street festival follows several races that morning with food vendors, art and crafts for sale, kids games and five live music stages last from 11am to 6pm. Last year over 30,000 people attended this free outdoor party, so the expected good weather this weekend should have the streets of Arlington's downtown crowded. With 5 stages of live bands concurrently there is sure to music you can jam to, from local favorite rock group Footwerk to catchy tunes by Flo Anito to soulful guitar riffs by Sol Roots.

Bingo Happy Hour for Arlington Rooftop

Arlington Thrive’s Young Professionals Group for its Bingo Happy Hour on Tuesday September 15 from 5:30 to 8:30pm at Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill. Attendance is free and so is the first bingo card. All are welcome to come and enjoy food and drink specials, test their bingo skill, hopefully win some great prizes, network with other area young professionals, and learn about an organization working to prevent homelessness in Arlington County.

Laissez Foure at Bayou Bakery's Katrina 10

Bayou Bakery in Courthouse is throwing a party to celebrate 10 years of New Orleans recovering from Hurricane Katrina in 2005 on Saturday August 29. The Katrina 10 event is from 5-7pm and Jazz quartet Laissez Foure is providing the live music. The celebration of recovery includes New Orleans style food and drink and an open mic for guests sharing their own Katrina story.

That day also kicks off our week-long Charity Book Sale, continuing until Sept. 5 with all proceeds from copies of DamGoodSweet sold going to The Roots of Music. Children are the future and this nonprofit provides youths with musical education and instruments while preserving New Orleans culture through music.

Mad Rose Players and Pets

Hold on for this post, there is a lot happening on Thursday August 6 at Mad Rose.

The Clarendon night spot is hosting an awareness event for dog adoption to benefit the DC Shiba Inu Rescue, who might be providing some puppies for a "pet fashion show" that night. Attendees are encourage to wear as much black as possible to blend with the "blackout" theme from 8pm to 1am.

Boots for Boots Haiti Fundraiser

This July 19 attend a Sunday Funday for a good cause with the Drinkers Who Do Good Shaw in DC. The Boots for Boots fundraiser at Dacha Beet Garden  is raising money for the Maison Fortuné Orphanage in Haiti. Their goal for the summer is to raise $2,600 to raise money to buy shoes for each of the kids.

From 12 to 3 pm, $10 donation gets you wristbands for $10 giant beer boots of Hefeweiss and Pilsner.  They also will have brunch options like Belgian waffles, bagel sandwiches, jalapeño mac and cheese, and bottomless mimosas. An Instagram contest for best picture tagged with #theDWDG will win a prize. There is also a 50/50 cornhole tournament for a $20 donation. Bringing cash is highly recommended since there is no ATM at Dacha.
