Marymount University alumni's are returning to Clarendon this Thursday, Sept 20 for another Arlington Saints Social happy hour. This time the venue is at the G.O.A.T. 6 to 9pm, and is bound to be popular as the last Saints Social at Boardroom was packed. Meet, mix and mingle with your fellow alumni, including MU’s seventh President, Dr. Irma Becerra. Your $10 per person includes hors d’oeuvres and a full bar and supports Marymount University’s Scholarship Fund. RSVP by Tuesday, September 18.

Barley Mac Yappy Hour

Barley Mac in Rosslyn is hosting a Yappy Hour dog friendly happy hour fundraiser this Sunday July 15.  From 4 to 7pm they will feature special cocktails and treats for your pup. On Thursday April 19 from 6 to 9pm Marymount University is hosting a Saints Social alumni happy hour at Clarendon's Board Room. Tickets are $10 per person and includes hors d'oeuvres and a full bar. NOVA Pride happy hour at A-Town

Northern VA Pride is hosting a celebration of the Supreme Court decision making Marriage Equality legal across the entire United States. Join them at A-Town right next to Ballston Metro on Monday June 29 from 5-10pm. Specials include half price sushi all night and "pride-tinis". This will be a "Freedom to Marry Happy Hour" thrown by young Republicans who believe in equal marriage rights for everyone including gay couples. The event is free, and anyone can RSVP online.

Wiz Wednesday At Mister Days

This Wednesday January 14 the Wizards take on the Chicago Bulls and a die hard group of local fans are meeting up at Mister Days to watch the game. The Wiz Happy Hour starts at 8pm, with Mister Days hosting an extended happy hour until 9pm. Drink specials range from $2 Bud Lights to other select beers for $3/$4 along with some $3 food options. Guarapo Happy Hour for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Guarapo in Courthouse is hosting a happy hour for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Thursday March 27. Starting at 6pm, a suggested $10 donation will get you hookah, sugarcane Guarapo cocktails and music by DJ Saam. This Friday, Feb 21, government contracting company Deloitte is having a happy hour fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, which is a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs for wounded veterans since Sept 11. Hosted at Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill in Courthouse, the extended happy hour lasts until 9pm and includes:

Marymount Black Alumni happy hour at Buffalo Wild Wings

Next Friday, October 18 Marymount University's Black Alumni Network is having a happy hour in Ballston. Buffalo Wild Wings is hosting the event from 5-8pm and providing appetizers and drink specials. A $5 cover charge per person will directly benefit the Black Alumni Network's Bench Naming Opportunity which was part of Marymount's 26th Street Project. To date $1,175 has been raised toward the $5,000 pledge.

Oby Lee's new happy hour

Oby Lee is a small wine, coffee and crepe shop on the corner of Washington Blvd and 10th Street. It a nice little shop that great for dates, as they feature a wine-by-the-glass machine. They also have now changed their happy hour and drink specials, which now go from Tuesday to Friday from 4 - 7pm. I'm especially looking forward to the longer happy hour on Fridays. Items available for the happy hour are:

Student Intern Network HH Thursday

The Student Intern Network, a group started in DC to help young professionals with networking and philanthropty, is holding its next happy hour at the Clarendon Grill this Thursday, July 11. SIN also assists local charities and non-profit organizations with fundraising, including D.C. Central Kitchen, Alzheimer's Association, and the Boys & Girls Club of America. The free event from 5 to 9pm will include some drink specials and contest give aways.

Gua Rapo charity happy hour tonight

One Common Unity benefit happy hour is happing tonight, Thursday Feb 7 at Gua Rapo. The non-profit's mission is to create sustainable communities, and 80% of the happy hour's proceeds will go to this charity. The event goes from 6pm to 8pm and includes DJ Saam, the 20 & 30s Going Out Group, $4 Corona Lights, $6 wine and of course hooka. So far over 300 people have signed up to attend so it should be a great turnout. Suggested donation is $10.

 Clarendon's best coffee shop Northside Social has redesigned its upstairs wine bar and is offering a new happy hour there. From 5-7pm Monday through Saturday, they have selected 5 of their wines to be available at $5 each.

Wine bar manager and Arlington local Charlotte explained how Northside Social's upstairs bar acts like a separate venue than the familiar downstairs coffee lounge. She has changed the decor and menu to give it a more intimate and comfortable feel, better suited to enjoyed wine, cheese and conversations.

Charlotte says they are trying an experiment of imposing a no-laptop rule in the wine bar after 5pm to make it more of an escape from work. She also chooses artwork to display on the walls from local artists and photographers and rotates them every few months.

The first floor coffee bar at Northside also servers wine, but it is a completely different menu than the upstairs wine bar. Patrons are also free to bring their wine outside to the Wilson Street patio when the weather is friendly.

Hokies for Sandy Hook HH at Whitlows

Virginia Tech alumni have organized a happy hour to benefit the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, happening tonight Dec 19 at Whitlows. From 5 to 9pm, you can buy a $5 wristband which gets you the following drink specials:

  $3 most draft beers
