Great show by Katie Herzig & Butterfly Boucher

I had a great time at IOTA last Saturday with the dual talents Butterfly Boucher and Katie Herzig. I was happy that Butterfly stayed on after her set and plyed backup guitar for most of Katie's songs. Can't wait for the next time they tour in the area, as I liked Katie's soulfoul lyrics but enjoyed Butterfly's more rockish beat the most.

Don't miss a back to back show of two of my favorite female musicians tonight at IOTA. The beautiful guitarist Butterfly Boucher takes the stage tonight to open up for Katie Herzig, and I last saw both women play together when the supergroup Ten Out of Tenn visited Clarendon last September. Katie Herzig's voice and guitar mesmerized me when I heard the song "Hologram", which has become my favorite track of hers. The show starts around 9pm and the $12 cover is a steal for seeing these two musicians live in one night.

Don't miss Katie Herzig's performance at Iota tonight at 9pm. I first saw her perform when she toured with Ten Out Of Tenn a few years ago. I'm looking forward to hearing the live rendition of her hit Hologram. Opening for her tonight is Paul Dempsey.

Must See Bands at Iota in July

July is a good month to check out Clarendon's indie music heart - Iota on Wilson Blvd. The low key venue hosts live music every night of the week, as well as a free open mic night on Wednesdays.

Bobbie Allen is a Pop-Folk-Fusion singer/songwriter (think of Neko Case mixed with some Jenny Lewis), playing Thursday July 22 with The Morrison Brothers Band.

Middle Distance Runner is sure to put on an awesome show on Saturday July 24. Their live performance of The Unbeliever was just as memorable as the stop motion claymation video for the song.

I'm looking forward to seeing Katie Herzig on stage again Tuesday, July 27. I first saw her perform with the amazing Ten Out of Tenn supergroup two years ago, and her enchanting song Hologram is pleasantly still stuck in my head.

The stunning red head Reni Lane is returning to Iota again Thursday July 29 and is opening for Horse Feathers. Check out 10 Random Things About Her and her other entertaining music videos.

Talented and personable Katie Herzig opened for Hoots And Helmouth tonight at Iota. I arrived to late to see Katie perform, but was still lucky enough to chat with her and grab a copy of her new album Apple Tree.

The last time I caught her performance was when she sang and in the super-talented Ten Out Of Tenn in December. That Christmas themed show was awesome, especially with Katie's rendition of her hit Hologram. She will be back in town on Oct 7 at the 9:30 club.
