Cafe Wilson brunch
I finally got a chance to try out the tiny and easily missed Cafe Wilson on Garfield & Wilson. Before 2005, it was known as "Big Belly Deli" and still has the same decour and signage as before but just different owners.
Cafe Wilson is known for its vegetarian dishes and low prices, but I tried a few meat heavy items from their all day breakfast menu. The two eggs, hash browns, toast and circle bacon pictured here is a delicious value for $5.50. The egg, cheese and sausage english muffin was fresh but bland. I want to drop by again with some vegan friends and get their opinion of the quirkly little deli.
I hope little unique shops like this one can stay around as Clarendon grows and becomes more urbanized. Their neighbor Hunan Number One is one of my favorite places to get a cheap beer, and is similar to Cafe Wilson in the way that you could easily miss it walking past. Also, both venues have no-frills interior offers a nice contrast to all the high end restaurants that have popped up recently.

Harry's Tap Room brunch
Once again, I had an excellent brunch at Harry's Tap Room in Clarendon today. Surprisingly, this time our service was just as good as the food for a change.Pictured here is the crab cakes with an extra side of bacon. As I've mentioned before, Harry's flavorful bacon could be the best around. The crab cakes, which rested on muffins with poached eggs atop, were delicious and filling alongside of the tasty home fries. I'm wondering how Harry's crab cakes compare to the similar dish at Marvin's in DC (thanks BitchesWhoBrunch).

Their brunch menu does look delicious, although it is pricey. Don't miss out on the extras:

Gameday at Clarendon Grill
Ever since they remodeled and refreshed their menu, I've been pleasantly surprised with Clarendon Grill's brunch and lunch offerings. Pictured here is their delicious lump crab cake sandwich and potato crisps, which contained no filler at all!
The Grill was popular today as it made a good spot to watch the Redskins vs Titans game at 1pm with their multiple new flat screens and large projector screen filling in the stage. The new Grill's remodeled interior is much more comfortable and efficient than before, but there still wasn't enough seats to go around for all the Skins fans.

Brunch @ Cheesecake Factory
The Cheesecake Factory is known for its large portion sizes, good service, and if being over-hyped and tacky. But they also have a surprisingly rich Sunday only brunch menu. While most people are flocking to Whitlows and waiting for a table at their breakfast buffet, it is a nice change of pace to be seated immediately for brunch at Cheesecake.
Pictured is their Giant Belgian Waffle with all the optional toppings, which looked deliciously more like desert than breakfast.
Being Cheesecake Factory it is a little pricey, but i recommend it for a special treat brunch alternative.
