Charity Cupid's Undie Run in DC Feb 13

There is several races planed for the upcoming Valentine's weekend, including the Cupid's Undie Run on the 13th. This 1.75 loop around the Capital starting is raising money for the Children's Tumor Foundation.

Unlike other races, this one requires its participates to wear only underwear during the event. Luckily its a short run, and the fact that those over 21 have access to drink specials helps too!

The $30 registration provides "access to all day drink specials, post-race food, t-shirt, and the opportunity to gallivant around the Capitol in your bedroom best!"

Army Ten Miler @ The Pentagon

The Army Ten Miler race concluded today under an incredibly blue sky and perfect running conditions. This was the 25th annual race that began and ended near the Pentagon.

I was near the Smithsonian Metro station that marked the 5.5 and 7.5 mile markers, due to racers turning around in front of the capital. This was a great place to watch the race as you had two chance to pick out your friends amongst the dense crowds.

Congrats to all the 21,256 runners!

Air Force Cycling Classic @ Crystal City

This morning was the second part of the Air Force cycling race in Arlington. The 60 mile race around Crystal City occurred on an almost perfect day despite some early thunder showers, but should have been better organized.

Racers afterward complained of poor planning and that the organizers of the race were not clear about cut off times. The race was scheduled to start at 7:30, but bikers were not able to actually clear the start line until 7:46 due to the announcers talking on stage. And that 16 minute delay was not added on to the 10:30 cut off time, so many racers who were going to finish the race with a "gold medal" (which you get for completing all 8 laps on time) were stopped early. But the race it self was very rewarding for contestants of all ages and ability.
