The Nine Songwriter Series on Facebook Live

The Nine Songwriter Series continues during quarantine! This not-to-be-missed traveling group was the idea of local musician Justin Trawick in 2008. For this Facebook Live edition on Friday May 15, we have another nine talented musicians each playing each hour starting 1pm.

Live music at Clarendon Day

Every year in September Clarendon Day draws a huge crowd to the street festival featuring lots of food, shopping, activities and live music. This Saturday September 17 there will be a huge selection of live performances across four stages throughout the day, including local favorite Justin Trawick and many many more:

Nine Songwriter Series at Sehkraft Brewery

There is a new live music venue in Clarendon! Sehkraft Brewing on 10th and Washington Blvd is a new large restaurant featuring a stage for live music and an outdoor patio with fire pits.

Now, every last Tuesday of the month at Sehkraft, The 9 Songwriter Series will fill that stage with an array of local talents. Their first show will be this Tuesday, December 29th with doors at 7:30pm and the show at 8pm. Tickets are free and features great local acts like Justin Trawick and the amazing Margot MacDonald! Get in the holiday spirit this Sunday December 14 with nine super talented musicians on stage in one night at Iota. This special holiday show is so big it actually goes for two nights, starting Sunday at 8:30 and continuing on Monday night. The 9 Songwriter Series will feature all these great local acts singing holiday tunes for just a single $10 cover charge:

The Nine Songwriter Series has been touring the nation for the past six years since Justin Trawick founded it in 2008. The night will feature nine solo singer/songwriters performing together in a unique and captivating format, telling stories, and often sitting in with each other and making up music on the spot. This week Iota features back to back performances of "The 9" groups headed by local musician Justin Trawick. Monday, December 16 starts off The 9 Comedy Series at 8pm with nine great DC area comics for only a $5 cover, including:

Local talent Kate Moran is one of the nine musicians headlining Tuesday, June 25 at Iota. The show starts at 8pm and is a great deal with 30 songs from 9 musicians for one $12 cover. Justin Trawick at Iota June 28

Local musician Justin Trawick just released a new music video for his song "Starting Over". Justin is not only very talented, but he keeps incredibly busy by playing with his own band and organizing the  9 Songwriter Series and the 9 Comedy Series that plays in Clarendon regularly. If you like what you see here, Justin Trawick and his band will be playing at Iota on June 28 along with Mission South. But Justin is sure to lend his talents on stage at the next 9 Songwriter Series show also at Iota on Tuesday, June 25.

The Nine Songwriter Series makes its monthly appearance at Iota this Tuesday, Feb 19. I've always loved this event that local musician Justin Tradwick puts together, as you get to see nine very talented artists in one night for only one cover charge.

Brittnay Jean will be one of the nine muscians to grace the stage that night. She has great acoustic guitar talent her "strong dominating vocals gets your heart pumping" as one critic noted. The show starts at 8pm and only costs $10.

Justin Trawick and 9 Songwriter Series at Iota

Popular local musician Justin Trawick is playing at Iota this Friday, Dec 14. This is going to be a blowout party with co-headliner Taylor Carson and his full band as well as Cassidy Ford opening.  Music will start at 9pm with Cassidy, followed by Taylor and then Justin's band around 10pm.  Tickets are $12 and the show is 21 and up.

 

Then next week don't miss two nights in a row of the 9 Songwriter Series. These awesome traveling showcases was started by Justin Trawick and feature nine musicians in one night for a single cover charge of $10. They will be playing on Monday Dec 17 and Tuesday Dec 18 at Iota starting at 8pm. Both nights will feature holiday themed music to get you in the Christmas spirit!

I'm excited about this upcoming Monday in Clarendon, as the 9 Songwriter Series returns to Iota. This is an amazing deal for quality live music in the area, as you get to see nine great local musicians for one cover price of $10. Including local Arlington favorite Justin Tradwick! Also gracing the stage will be the talented folk-pop guitarist Emily Henry, who has been the guest star for Iota's open mic Wednesday nights in the past.

I'm also excited about seeing Emily Henry again, as she was the guest performer at IOTA's weekly open mic a few months ago and everyone was very taken by her.
