Year Of Beers at Arlington Rooftop

This Wednesday June 12 from 6 to 8pm Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill is hosting the free Spring 2019 Year of Beer sampling event. There will be complimentary appetizers, a raffle for an Arlington Rooftop gift card and full pours of the beer will be available for purchase. This is a free event, but you must RSVP, and the event fills up fast! There will be four Virginia breweries providing samples:

O’Connor Brewery: Proper Lager, Cloud-Break

Heavy Seas Brewery: Smooth Sailor, Tropicannon IPA

Blue Mountain Brewery: Hopwork Orange IPA, Kolsch

Pale Fire Brewery: Salad Days, Deadly Rhythm

Heavy Seas open in Rosslyn

Tonight, February 27, Heavy Seas Alehouse opens the doors on its second location in Rosslyn. Originally from Baltimore, Heavy Seas promises fine craft bear and good food. I'm expecting tasty beers like Loose Cannon, Peg Leg Imperial Stout, Gold Ale, Powder Monkey Pale Ale and Cutlass Amber Lager and will be very disappointed if I'm not smacked in the face with tons of other pirate themes as well. The restaurant opens at 11am daily on 1501 Wilson Blvd, hopefully with plenty of Old Bay.

1K Beer Walk in Crystal City

This weekend Crystal City mall is hosting the second annual 1k Beer Walk. The race themed beer tasting is Saturday January 26th and Sunday January 27th, 2013. The entire race in indoors, so you can use this as an excuse to escape the cold and show.

Tickets cost $35 for Sat and $30 on Sunday. Sample 20 of the close to 50 beers they will be pouring and end at a giant dance party. Pick a heat every half an hour from 1 to 5pm, but sign up soon as time slots are selling out.

Grateful Red dog themed beer tasting tonight

Don't miss the free beer tasting tonight at the new Grateful Red wine shop, which is themed the "Dog Days Beer Tasting". From 5 to 7pm you can stop by the rear of this dog friendly store and try several IPA and a cream ale.

Beer and Cheese at Marvelous Market Saturday

This Saturday April 28 drop by Marvelous Market in Ballston for a beer and cheese pairing. From 4 to 7pm the delicious little deli will hold a spring open house to showcase five different cheeses and beer from Great Lake Brewing.

VA Homebrewers @ Sweetwater

The local Virginia Homebrewers group is having their first meetup tonight. They will be trading beer recipes and secrets at 7pm at the amazing Sweetwater Tavern in Centerville.

"This group is for those beer lovers who want to go beyond just drinking beer, but creating beer. A meetup to share recipes, techniques, but most of all homebrewed beer. Whether you are a wheat beer lover or a Irish stout drinker, this group welcomes all those who want to dabble in homebrewing."
