Black Cat in DC is hosting a huge show to benefit the cause of DC statehood. Today, DC is considered a district not a state, so capital citizens have a representative in Congress that can not vote. All proceeds of the night go to DCVote.org to fight taxation without representation.
At 9pm the massive show starts with over 70 musicians. Boat Burning headlines the night, as they are a DC based "maximal minimalism" ensemble known for powerful, evocative music. One of my favorites Joshua Palace is also playing. Another DC area native, Joshua's new sound is neo-noir electronic soul.
